Jay Mohr cannot take his foot further out of his mouth, though he would like to try. The comedian recently insulted Charmed actress Alyssa Milano in his podcast following their mutual attendance of NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series at Wynn Las Vegas on Dec. 6. Mohr expressed his apologies to the Project Runway All Stars host twice this week. The first sorry was sent through Twitter; the second was delivered via Facebook, so the whole world could feel his shame.
Mohr commented, in his podcast Mohr Stories, on the actress' weight, saying she looked “like she had a baby” and was clearly “not wearing spanx.”
Milano was a little miffed by the backstabbing and issued the following tweet on Christmas Day, no less:
“.@jaymohr37 So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me. Be well and God Bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife."
Mohr, whose own wife’s reputation has been damaged by ugly tabloid publications, immediately realized his faux pas. The 43-year-old took to Twitter on Thursday for a preliminary explanation:
"@perezhilton @alyssa_milano She's stunning, I mistakenly thought the absurdity of what I was saying would have been taken as a joke. #fail"
Mohr sent the more formal apology, that he posted on his Facebook, directly to Milano the following day (via LA Times):
“I had thought in that improvisational moment (incorrectly), that the incongruousness of my statements, when held up to the light of how beautiful [Alyssa Milano] is, would have been funny. IT WASN'T. Knowing that Alyssa (her family, friends, fans, and especially her husband) heard things that were hurtful, from my mouth, crushed me...I will not make excuses for what I said--it lacked class and dignity--and I regret that I ever said it. Although I immediately removed that segment from my podcast, it still doesn't change the results...I went too far. I cannot change what I said, but I can assure you that my heart is broken that I hurt her. With the utmost sincerity, Jay Mohr."
The always classy Milano kept her reply via Twitter very light hearted:
".@jaymohr37 Thank you. Apology accepted. (She grunts while aggressively yet cautiously prying off her head-to-toe Spanx). #PassTheCookies,"
Thank God the feud is over!
