Look out Pawn Star, yet another pawn shop based reality show is coming to television. Beverly Hills Pawn is coming to the Reelz network this month. The network announced the show’s premiere air date will be January 8.
Reelz network isn’t known for much, so people can only surmise that this is their hopeful entry into the worlds of both reality television and celebrity idol worship.
The show centers around the shop's owner, former Israeli Delta Force captain Yossi Dina, and his staff. The commando has made himself a pretty penny through the buying and selling of high-end art, jewelry, and hollywood memorabilia.
Though he has done quite well for himself, his passion is working at his pawn shop. He recently explained his dedication to Star:
“I have the most amazing beach house in Malibu, but i enjoy being here more than anyplace. I don’t go on vacation.”
Though celebrities may venture in the shop from time to time, you shouldn’t expect them to get any preferential treatment. Yossi explained to Star his hand-off, everyday guy approach to dealing with A list celebs:
“I don’t get excited when i see these people. Some I like more than others, but they’re all amazing. When George Hamilton comes, I’ll spend four or five hours with him. And I like the Kardashians very much.”
Wow, that does sound pretty exciting. Didn’t realize that the celebrity A list was from 1985.
