'Batman Vs Superman' Filming Update and Green Lantern John Stewart Casting Rumors

DC Comics and Warner Brothers are putting a lot of work into the upcoming Man of Steel sequel, Batman Vs Superman. A new filming update suggests they are also dropping some big cash on the new movie. Meanwhile, other members of the Justice League might be joining the cast, including The Green Lantern, John Stewart.

The script for Batman Vs Superman may be rewritten by Argo writer Chris Terrio, but that hasn’t stopped filming from already starting. A few months ago, it was revealed that a football game between Gotham and Metropolis was already filmed, and later it was reported that activity had stated back up at the site of the Kent Farm from Man of Steel.

Now it is being reported that the film will take up all the available space at the Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac. The movie is also expected to film on location in Detroit. The production has an alleged budget of $131 million for filming, making it the largest in the cities' history.

Meanwhile, new casting rumors for the movie are popping up all the time. One of the latest has been revolving around African-American Green Lantern, John Stewart. Denzel Washington has been one of the names linked to play the Emerald Knight. However, Washington has also been linked to play Lex Luthor. Similarly, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been rumored to play both Stewart and Luthor.

Batman News reporter Chris Begley has set out to debunk the Washington/Stewart rumor.

Still, with all the casting rumors around, it seems like Batman Vs Superman might as well be called Justice League.

What do you think of the latest rumors? Who do you want to see play The Green Lantern in Batman Vs Superman? Who would you like to see play Lex Luthor? Let us know your dream cast in the comments section below.
