Well fans, it is 2014 and that means that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is just eight months away. While fans are still awaiting an official trailer, which can not be too far away (it will most likely be released before Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier). Meanwhile, Marvel has released an official plot summary of the new film. They have also added a brand new cast photo of the rag-tag team of heroes.
Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the most anticipated new films of 2014. The up-and-coming cast and Marvel’s unlikely superhero group are all making names for themselves fast. Now Marvel has revealed a first look at the team. The debut photo of Starlord (Chris Pratt), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel), Drax (Dave Batista) and Gomara (Zoe Saldana), came complete with an official plot summary of the new film.
The Marvel Press release reads:
"An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits--Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand--with the galaxy's fate in the balance."
Where the synopsis is relatively spoiler-free, the hidden Gem might be that “mysterious orb.” The description of the orb fits with the description of one of the six Infinity Stones. The Infinity Stones the mcguffins of the Avengers and Thor: The Dark World.
