Alas, one of Classicalite favorite venues--the ISSUE Project Room on Boerum Hill in Brooklyn--is now bearing the brunt of the first great blizzard of 2014.
"We are sorry to announce that due to inclement weather, tonight's performance of Carey Loren and Tom Carey's The Legend of Mothman is canceled," reads the notice in our inbox.
Good news: The program will be rescheduled for October, 2014.
Date, at least for now, is still TBA.
As fans of all kinds of puppetry here, go ahead and leave your October open--Careys Loren and Tom are DIA pros.
Don't fret too much, though, as Peter Evans (second trumpet only to Nate Wooley, in our opinion) is so very on for Friday, January 10. Doors open at 8 p.m.
Even better? It's a free show there on Livingston (i.e. $10 donation, to keep the music alive, of course).
Here's the boilerplate:
"Peter Evans opens his 2014 residency with a solo trumpet performance, a format he has been working with for over a decade. Improvisation is used as a method of pressurizing and slowly refining materials from concert to concert, a process of using the known as a catapult to the unknown."
So, no go for the Careys tonight, but Evans should more than make up for it...until that date in October of 2014.
