Finally, The Rock has come back to DC comics. OK...well he was never there in the first place, but still. The most electrifying man in sports entertainment recently announced that he was in talks with Warner Brothers to star in an upcoming DC comic's film. Ever since the announcement, the internet has been buzzing about just who he might play. Some of the most talked about choices have been Lex Luthor, Darkseid, Martian Manhunter, Lobo and Black Adam.
During a recent question and answer session on Twitter, called Rock Talk, Dwayne Johnson recently revealed that he was in talks with Warner Brothers to star in a DC Comic's movie:
“We just had a big meeting w/ Warner Bros CEO re: @DCComics 2014 we will partner up and create the cool bad assery. #RockTalk @ActionTilson”
This stirred up old rumors that Johnson was once attached to play the villain Black Adam in the now defunct Shazam movie. Shazam is a pivotal part of the Justice League film and The Black Adam is a strong enough of a villain to take on the Justice League, if they decided to save him for the team-up film.
Speaking of super tough Justice League villains, The Rock was also once attached to play The Main Man, Lobo, an unkillable alien biker, bounty hunter.
However, Batman Vs Superman is the only film currently in a the DC pipeline. So rumor has it that The Rock might be cast in that film. That opens up the casting possibilities a great deal.
Could The Rock possibly play Lex Luthor in the new film? Other rumors are that he could be the big bad Darkseid. However, it is entirely possible Johnson could play a hero in the new film. Rumor has it that Warner Brothers is looking to put Martian Manhunter in The Man of Steel 2.
