SPOILER WARNING! It was one of the most highly anticipated films of 2013 and now fans will not have to wait long to bring home their very own copy of Thor 2: The Dark World. The hit Marvel movie has been given an early 2014 release date. The Blu-Ray/DVD will feature an all new short film titled, All Hail the King. The title seems to suggest that the short will star Tom Hiddleston as Loki. The release will also feature a gag reel and deleted scenes.
Marvel’s Thor 2: The Dark World had an impressive showing this past November when it was released into theaters. The smash hit film wowed audiences and lead directly into Marvel’s forthcoming Guardians of the Galaxy.
Now there is good news for the film’s superfans or hold outs waiting to catch the film in Red Box. The movie is scheduled for a Blu-Ray DVD release on February 25, 2014.
The film will feature a series of mouth watering extras including the standard gag reel, deleted scenes and audio commentary. However, it’s the super secret short film titled, All Hail The King, that has fans most excited.
The end of Thor 2: The Dark World had Loki, who is presumed to be dead, replacing Odin on the Throne of Asgard. Fangirls are hoping that the new short will feature Loki, himself, Tom Hiddleston. Hiddleston is an obvious fan favorite, recently winning E! Online’s Best Celebrity of 2013 as well as MTV’s Sexiest man Alive 2013. The star even has his own loyal following known as Loki’s Army.
However, with Loki dawning the guise of his adopted father Odin, it is entirely likely that if the new short does center around the character, that he will be played by Sir Anthony Hopkins for a large part of the short.
