Calm down, One Direction fans. It looks like Harry Styles isn’t dating Kendall Jenner after all. Turns out Harry and Kendall likely spent New Year’s apart, despite rumors that she’s his new girlfriend.
Prominent gossip site Hollywood Life is reporting that things aren’t as rosy for Harry and Kendall as the press has made them out to be.
One source claimed that Harry actually can’t stand Kendall, and that’s why it’s unlikely the two welcomed in the new year together. When asked if the two would be spending time together on the last day of 2013, the source responded:
“I wouldn’t bank on it. He has better things to do...Her looks only take her so far. She is a bit barmy [British slang for foolish or eccentric]...It was never official, more of a fling. Again, looks take you so far in life--she wasn’t the full package.”
This is the same publication, however, that claimed Kendall and Harry only got together for publicity sake...but could be developing deeper feelings for one another:
“They were originally put together on dates to get him in the news for album selling purposes, and to make Kendall get some news as well. But they actually became friendly from it! She really likes him. But their schedules rarely mesh, which is relationship poison.”
Not every tabloid seems to be in agreement over why they first started dating. Star seems to believe that the two met through fellow 1D member, Niall Horan, quoting one source who revealed:
“Kendall was friends with Niall first, and he was actually the one who set the whole thing up. Niall thought they would make a great couple and suggested that they go out to dinner to see if they had any chemistry.”
