‘Batman: Arkham Origins’ Mr Freeze Game Story Confirmed for 2014, New Spoiler Photo Released

Well Bat-Fans, it is official. The long awaited story expanding downloadable content for Batman: Arkham Origins has been announced. Now a brand new teaser photo for the game has been released that confirms Mr. Freeze will be the focus of the game's DLC story.

Recently the Batman: Arkham Facebook page wowed fans of the game series, when it teased a special New Year’s Eve announcement:

"Visit this page on December 31 for a special announcement...more details to come next week!"

The teaser was followed up by an announcement in the form of an invitation to Gotham’s Humanitarian of the Year Awards:

“You are cordially invited to the Humanitarian of the Year Awards at the Wayne Manor on New Year's Eve. #ArkhamOrigins”

The humanitarian statue stared at fans like a tiny golden Riddler trophy, teasing curious gamers everywhere. However, serious Batman fans were able to deduce that the Humanitarian of the Year had previously been seen in 1992’s Batman: The Animated Series.

The awards were featured in the episode “Heart of Ice,” where Victor Fries, A.K.A Victor Freeze, sought revenge on industrialist CEO Ferris Boyle, in the villain's revamped origin.

Another clue could be found in the game Arkham Origins, itself. The game takes place on Christmas, but the Joker planned a series of snowman bombs for New Year's day. Batman, however, did manage to set off the bombs early, so don’t bank on any big bangs in the new DLC.

A new photo has now been released from the Batman: Arkham facebook, that confirms that Freeze will be in the DLC. The photo shows an award statue frozen over holding an actual Heart of Ice.

What do you think about the new DLC? Are you hoping that Alfred packs some Bat-Soup into the crime fighter’s utility belt? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
