This Thursday night is a big night for comedy. Not only is NBC premiering the long awaited 5th season of Community, but CBS is firing back with all new episodes of the hit sitcoms, Big Bang Theory and Two and Half Men.
NBC’s Community finally returns with two all new episodes starting at 8.p.m. The Season 5 premiere of the cult comedy kicks off with a brand new take on the show's pilot, aptly titled “Repilot.”
The official synopsis for the episode, reads:
“In the Season 5 premiere, Jeff returns to Greendale to collect evidence for a lawsuit. Upon hearing news of Jeff's visit, the Dean organizes a reunion for the study group in hopes that Jeff is back to help save the school.”
CBS also has a big night planned with all new episodes of Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men. First up is Big Bang Theory, with an all new episode called "The Hesitation Ramification."
Two and Half men is also new. The hit CBS sitcom has been getting a lot of buzz about the addition of Amber Tamblyn who plays Charlie Sheen’s character’s long lost bi-sexual daughter. Tamblyn recently spoke with Running Later with Scott Rogowsky about playing a lesbian on the male centered sitcom:
"It's great to play a lesbian character that is not the butt of jokes and that is actually the one that supplies the jokes and oftentimes is not cast as the villain in a sitcom,or a stereotype or any of those things... I think they've got a lot of young, great writers and it's kind of amazing for a show like that to go through the changes that it has and really come from being a show that was primarily for men and male-based jokes to jokes that, really, a lot of women and a lot of friends of mine who are gay and even transgender love it."
