2014 is the year of the Spider...Well the Spider-Man anyway. Sony’s Amazing Spider-Man 2 is one of the most anticipated new films of the coming year, and to celebrate, everybody's favorite web-slinger will be swinging into Time Square tonight. Spidey will be ringing in the new year with a brand new trailer clip from the new movie. Meanwhile, with the new year comes new rumors. The latest rumor involves actress Felicity Jones’s possible role in the film. Many are speculating that Jones will be playing The Black Cat. Spidey could use the anti heroine's help, considering he's going up against three big bad villains in the new movie.
Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man will be hanging out in Time Square this New Year’s Eve. The web-slinger will apparently be helping to drop the ball this holiday (like when he dropped the ball with poor Uncle Ben).
A new clip of the wall crawler hanging out on the ball has been revealed. It has been reported that Spidey will be kicking off a new clip from the film.
However, some are speculating that the spectacular Spider-Man will have something more amazing planned for the event. Perhaps there could be a possible announcement about the spin-off films, Venom and Sinister Six.
Rumor also has it that this could finally be the announcement that confirms Felicity Jones’ long rumored mystery casting. Jones is expected to portray the anti-heroine Black Cat (think DC’s Catwoman with white hair).
It is looking like Spider-Man will need the help, because according to the film’s official plot summary, he is going to have his webbed-hands full:
“It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.”
