It’s been a big year for Leah Remini. After her feud with Scientology and Kirstie Alley, the actress will be the newest cast member to join TV show Exes. This latest news comes after Leah’s critically acclaimed performance on Dancing with the Stars.
You can check out Remini for yourself on TV Land’s popular show, Exes. While the show has been around for a while, this will be Remini’s first appearance.
The show has provided the following description for the upcoming episode, "Nothing In Common:"
Stuart’s (David Alan Basche) sister Nicki (Leah Remini) shows up unannounced at the guys’ apartment in the middle of the night with big news about her marriage. As Stuart tries to play expert and guide Nicki through her problems, Haskell (Wayne Knight) pines over Nicki’s beauty and loses his ability to form sentences. Meanwhile, Phil and Eden’s relationship gets tricky when a potential ménage à trois is put on the table.
Of course, her recent success comes after her feud with Kirstie Alley, which intensified when Kirstie appeared on Howard Stern.
The large and (nearly) in charge celeb told Howard why she hates Alley:
"First of all, I just want everyone to know I have hundreds of friends who have come into Scientology and left Scientology. You're not shunned, you're not chased. All that stuff's bulls-t. When you're generalizing and when your goal is to malign and to say things about an entire group…when you decide to blanket statement that Scientology is evil, you are my enemy. I have blocked her on Twitter. Because she is a bigot. If someone was out there (attacking your religion) would they be your friend? They wouldn't be mine."
Though Stern played along, on a previous show he praised Remini for leaving the secretive religion. The shock jock told his audience:
“You shouldn’t even care if someone leaves your religion, but Scientologists care so much. Anyway, I hope Leah comes on. I’d like to talk to her about this. It says she was tortured because she asked where the leader’s wife is. They always have this kind of f---ed up stuff going on. And if you are sitting there smugly saying your religion is better than Scientology, you need to take a look at it. Your religion isn’t that much more advanced than Scientology.”
