Pianist Lang Lang to Give Special Concert with Violin Star Joshua Bell

Star Chinese pianist Lang Lang will give a special concert at Carnegie Hall on October 30 to benefit the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, which he created to support young musicians.

Hosted by Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin, The one-night-only concert will feature special guests, including Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell, Grammy and Tony Award-winning jazz artist Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Danish singer-songwriter Oh Land.

Lang Lang will offer solo piano works by Frederic Chopin, and Joshua Bell will join him, for the first time ever, in a performance of the Grieg Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 3 in C minor. Dee Dee Bridgewater will sing Broadway hits, and six child prodigies from three different continents, who have been supported by the Foundation in their music studies, will perform alongside Lang Lang.

Since 2008, the mission of The Lang Lang International Music Foundation is to educate and inspire the next generation of classical music lovers and performers by cultivating tomorrow's top pianists, delivering music education, and building a young audience through live music experiences.

The 31-year-old megastar pianist has played sold out recitals and concerts in every major city in the world. His 2008 Grammy's performance was broadcast live to 45 million viewers worldwide, and his performance at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Beijing was watched by more than 5 billion people.

More surprise star performances for the special concert will be announced.
