Jennette McCurdy is one of the hottest new stars of the day. So undoubtedly the starlet is an influence to millions of impressionable youth everywhere. Now the trendsetter is getting upset with a series of copycat Vine videos. However, the starlet has been doing some copying of her own, with a series of cover songs.
Jennette McCurdy is the poster child for Vines (a short mico video). The actress can not go a day without posting a six-second video. (Seriously where does she find the time?)
McCurdy’s addiction to Vining is well documented. She recently wrote about the issue on her other great vice, Twitter:
“I just got approached and asked if I was 'that famous viner'. I either feel terrible or great about this but I haven't decided yet.”
However, the Vines are starting to spread. McCurdy has found that a series of copycat Vines have started to pop up, and she doesn’t appear to like it. Not one bit.
So McCurdy responded the only way that she could, by posting a Vine. In a video titled, “People copying my vines are like…” the starlet channels Eddie Murphy (No she doesn’t pick up a tranny).
McCurdy also followed the Vine with a tweet:
“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...and also the most irritating.”
However, McCurdy has been doing a little bit of imitating herself. The actress has been showing off her singing talents in a series of acapella covers on YouTube.
A few of McCurdy’s many covers include: One Direction’s “Story of My Life,” Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball,” Lorde’s “Team,” Rihanna’s “Stay,” Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe”, as well the Christmas classics, “Santa Baby” and “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.”
Her latest track is her version of Katy Perry’s “Unconditional.”
