Well, it looks like NBC has learned from some of its past mistakes and is wasting no time bringing back the new hit series, The Blacklist. The darkhorse drama starring the uber-talented James Spader has captivated audiences with the first half of its freshman season. So it is not surprising that NBC is moving ahead with the show's post-holiday return date as soon as possible. Meanwhile, The Blacklist lead in and partner in crime, The Voice, will be joining the show in a few weeks for the premiere of Season 6.
The highly anticipated return of The Blacklist, starring James Spader, will be kicking off on Monday, January 13. However, the second half of the first season will also be split in half, thanks to the Winter Olympics. The show will run from January 13 until February 7, when the Winter Olympics will take over. The Blacklist will once again return on February 24.
The hit show has already been renewed for a second season. NBC’s Chairman, Rob Greenblatt, released a statement about the renewal:
"The success of The Blacklist demonstrates that inspired storytelling is alive and well in broadcast television, and I'm impressed on a daily basis by this creative team's imagination and the extent to which they will go to capture this grand vision on film. With gratitude to both our partners at Sony Pictures Television and our NBC development executives who took a great script and shepherded it into a great series, I hope that Red Reddington never runs out of names to bring down on his list!"
The show will soon be joined by the Season 6 premiere of the hit singing competition, The Voice, on Monday, February 24. Before that, Hollywood Game Night with Glee’s Jane Lynch will fill in for the show. Coachs Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will once again be joined by Shakira and Usher, who are replacing Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera.
