It has been a crazy rollercoaster ride for all the parties affected by the recent tragic death of Fast and Furious 7 star Paul Walker. First, the film was postponed by Universal, only to have the new date released by Vin Diesel via Facebook. Then Walker’s little brother was offered the job of replacing him, while in town comforting his mother in the wake of the disturbing preliminary autopsy. Now there is a feud brewing between the Walker family and the leading ladies in Paul’s life over the star’s $45 million estate.
Rebecca Mcbrain, the mother of Paul’s daughter Meadow, reportedly wants a piece of the star’s vast fortune, as does his girlfriend, at the time, Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell.
That isn’t going to happen if the Walker family has anything to say about it. A source close to the drama recently told Star:
“There’s no way Paul’s family well let Rebecca get her hands on that money. Paul’s family think they should be the financial caretakers. Paul’s Parents want to have control of his assets...Not surprisingly, they think they know best.”
It is sad when the classiest response to a tragedy comes from a giant corporate movie studio, but ,as of now, they seem to be handling the loss better than anyone else:
“Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers. At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise.”
If only, his loved ones showed such poise.
