Big news for fans of the Batman: Arkham game series. The official Batman: Arkham Facebook page is gearing up for a big announcement. Could this finally be some long awaited downloadable content or could it mean that the next game in the series is on its way? Meanwhile, fans are also anxiously awaiting the new Suicide Squad game.
Are you one of the devoted Batgamers out there, itching for another bit of Batman: Arkham action? Well, Bataddicts, the wait is almost over. The official Batman: Arkham Facebook is gearing up for a big announcement on New Year's Eve. The site delighted and intrigued fans everywhere when they posted this message:
"Visit this page on December 31st for a special announcement... more details to come next week!"
The message came with a photo of what looked like a Wonder City style sign that read, “Save The Date 12, 31, 2013.”
Many fans are speculating that this could be the announcement of long awaited story expanding DLC. Many are also wondering if this will be the start of the very next game in the series.
The first two (main) games in the series, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, were produced by Rocksteady games and starred long time Batman voice actors, Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, as Batman and the Joker, respectively. The third game in the franchise, Arkham Origins, was published by Warner Bros. Games Montréal, with Conroy and Hamill not reprising their roles. However, the franchise will reportedly return to Rocksteady for the fourth installment. Conroy is expected also return for the next game.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Games Montreal is reportedly working on the upcoming Suicide Squad game. The Suicide Squad, A.K.A. Task Force X, is a government run group of criminals, who go on dangerous missions in exchange for their freedom. Many of the Squad members were introduced in the Arkham Origins and the very end of the game featured a cut scene where Deathstroke was being offered a position in the group.
