‘American Idol’ Carrie Underwood Divorce from Husband Mike Fisher of Nashville Predators, Following 'Sound of Music' Air Date?

Country music phenomenon Carrie Underwood has seemed unstoppable in her domination of Nashville, since winning Season 4 of American Idol back in 2005. Besides releasing a string of hit albums, the star has been named Billboard's Best Country Artist of the 2000 Decade. With almost a decade of success under her belt, few were surprised when her live The Sound of Music air date was greeted with overall acclaim. The star's husband, Mike Fisher, of the Nashville Predators, isn't just surprised; he is ready for divorce.

The 30-year-old country siren reportedly dedicated her time and energy exclusively to preparation for the project, much to her hockey player husband’s chagrin. Fisher thought that all he had to do was make it through the one-time event, and Underwood would be ready to start that family.

Now that the music star is being bombarded with more stage offers, he is ready to bail. A friend close to Underwood recently put the whole dilemma into context for Star:

“Between his schedule with the nashville Predators and her rehearsals, they barely saw each other the last three months. When they did steal some alone time, Carrie was wiped out physically and emotionally. The ordeal left Mike feeling neglected and ignored...Mike is fuming. Carrie is thrilled about all the opportunities, but she’s very conflicted and confused. She and mike are barely speaking.”

What do you think? Should Underwood take a little time off to have the family she and her husband discussed? Or should he understand that some opportunities don’t come around more than once? Who should we hate here? Let us know what you think. Leave a comment in the field below.
