Move over Batman and Superman, there is a new DC superhero heading to the big screen, and she is ready to take you both on. It was recently announced that Wonder Woman will be joining The World's Finest in the upcoming 2015 Man of Steel sequel, tentatively titled Batman Vs Superman. Now the new Wonder Woman, Gal Godot, and the old Lynda Carter are opening up about the Amazonian princess. Meanwhile, the CW is still reportedly planning a Wonder Woman prequel TV show, called Amazon.
Wonder Woman is here and she is ready to kick some serious tail. Israeli actress and Fast and the Furious star, Gal Gadot, has opened up about the role. She recently spoke with Israel’s Good Evening with Gai Pines about getting into shape for the role (The interview was transcribed by the good folks at Batman News):
“It’s the physical preparations that I’m starting now. A very serious training regimen--Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, Jiu Jitsu, Brazilian…1,000 and 1 things. I’ll gain body mass.”
In a recent interview with Metro, the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, was asked if the was weird having to pass the torch to a character that she had been linked to for decades, to which she responded:
“ I don’t think so. It was a long time ago. I care more about the character continuing than holding on to my piece of it. I hope she has fun with it.”
Carter went on the lend her support for the actress, adding:
“I wish [Gadot] well/ I’m just glad [Wonder Woman's] going to be out there again. Maybe she'll get her own show again."
Speaking of getting Wonder Woman out there, the CW recently announced that still planning on movie forward with a planned Wonder Woman prequel called Amazon. So maybe, just maybe, WW will be bridging the gap between the big and small screen.
