Good news for fans of Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes. The couple may be getting back together to celebrate New Years. For the past month, rumors have been flying that the couple had a breakup. Some publications even claimed that Ryan was once again dating Rachel McAdams. In this latest update, we’ll take a look at how the gossip got started in the first place.
OK! was among the first to reveal that Eva and Ryan were calling it quits. Back in November, the gossip mag quoted a source as revealing that Eva and Ryan weren’t really on the same page. According to the insider, things were moving way too fast for Eva:
“Eva said the relationship just ran its course. There wasn’t a lot to say. He was everything you’re supposed to want in a guy--great on paper--but she felt like something was missing.”
Shortly after, the same tabloid predicted that Rachel McAdams reached out to Ryan after she underwent her own high-profile breakup. A source close to the celebrities told the publication:
“Rachel is pushing hard to get him back, and he’s becoming more and more receptive to her. They talk and message each other all the time. She was so broken hearted and devastated [following her own breakup]. She thought they would be together forever and was confused as to why it fell apart. She reached out to Ryan to get his advice and since then they’ve been getting closer and closer.”
After weeks passed and neither Eva nor Ryan released a statement, many fans believed that the couple was doing just fine. Then, last week, Radar Online revealed that the couple actually split during the Thanksgiving holiday:
“There was a realization before Thanksgiving that they took things way too fast and were rushing toward a marriage that neither of them particularly needed. They’ve decided to take a break to reevaluate their romance...They both know they need some kind of resolution in their relationship before they go out and promote their movie, in which Ryan directed Eva in a very big part.”
But don’t lose hope fans. The same source claimed that the couple could be getting back together for the next major holiday, as the source revealed, “Don’t be surprised if these two resurface together for New Year’s.”
