Former Felicity star Keri Russell awoke earlier this month to quite a clatter in her Brooklyn brownstone. The 37-year-old mother of two was startled awake at 3 a.m. by unfamiliar voices in her apartment. The Americans actress quickly sprang into action, running upstairs, from the basement where she was sleeping alone, to access the damage and call 911. The thieves, who entered through an open downstairs window, made off with a necklace, earrings, a laptop and a Filson bag. Two suspects were fortunately quickly apprehended by the police, but why wasn't contractor husband Shane Deary there to protect her and secure the doors and windows? Russell answered that question, when her rep later told People:
"They have been separated since early summer. The separation is amicable and their focus is on their children."
If you are worried about the fragile state of the star, don’t be. The FX star is unusually resilient, bouncing right back from the failed marriage and unphased by the ruffians. Though the divorce isn't yet final, Russell is moving right along with her life. A source close to Keri told Us Weekly:
“Keri is doing all right. [She has] adjusted well to being a single mom.”
And what has Russel had to say during this whole debacle? Showing her usually tenaciousness, she has kept her head down and her nose to the grindstone. lifting her head only to issue a thank you to the police that answered her emergency call (via New York Daily News):
“Everything's OK is all I want to say - and the police were so great. They were so fast. They were so great."
