Guardians of the Galaxy is gearing up for its 2014 release. The film just officially signed the long rumored Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot. Meanwhile, now that filming is finished, Dave Batista is reportedly planning his return to the WWE, just in time for the Royal Rumble.
Former WWE superstar Dave Batista is just one of the many stars of the upcoming movie, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Batista joins fellow brute, Vin Diesel, as well as Chris Pratt, John C. Reilly, Michael Rooker, Bradley Cooper and many more in the superhero space adventure. Marvel released an officvial synopsis of the plot in a press statement that reads:
“In the far reaches of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, an unlikely cast of characters including Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket Raccoon must join forces to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions. Directed by James Gunn, the live-action Guardians of the Galaxy will take fans to new corners of the Marvel Universe when it hits theaters August 1, 2014.”
Batista got really close to the cast and crew on the film, tweeting after filming wrapped:
“Emotional last few days. Parting ways with people who I've grown 2 love and admire. We busted our asses and created something really special.”
After Batista returned home for some well deserved vacation time, he tweeted about his time off from work:
“Waking up in my own bed. Getting caught up on Boardwalk Empire. Soon as it hits 80 Im jumping in the Jeep! Im on vacation...aka ’Unemployed.’”
However, The Animal won’t stay caged for long. Dave is reportedly gearing up to return to work at his old job. No, not his gig as a nightclub bouncer, Batista is posed to return to the ring. The former WWE Champion will return to the squared circle in time for the Royal Rumble. That means that Batista could be in line for a Wrestlemania Match and possibly a title shot.
