A Florida disc jockey has turned himself in for running a pirate radio station that replaced music on a local classical music radio station with infiltrated rap music and "vulgar" lyrics.
Broward Sheriff's Office reported that Romayne Davis, 32, operated a pirate radio station using a laptop running iTunes in a rented warehouse to break into WKCP Classical South Florida's 89.7 FM since March.
After receiving complaints from listeners, Broward Sheriff's Office detectives searched the warehouse and retrieved the radio equipment Davis used to air a pirate radio signal that blocked the classical station.
The pirate playlist included songs by artists R. Kelly and T-Pain.
Davis, DJ for Joker Boy Entertainment, was released on bond.
