Coming just days after the news of Paul Walker's new autopsy results, a new release date for the Fast and Furious 7 has been announced. the film will be released April 10, 2015.
Universal immediately halted all production of the film following the news of Walker's death a few weeks ago. Since then, there has been little word concerning just how they intend to deal with Walker's untimely passing in regards to their future blockbuster. Huffington Post published a statement released by the company on Dec. 4:
“Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers. At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise.”
In typical hero fashion, Vin Diesel is here to relieve your fears. Just days after a coroner's report stated that Walker might have been fully conscious and trying to escape immediately following the crash, Vin Diesel put up a Facebook post reporting the new release date:
“There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared…in the film we were now completing…the magic captured…and, in just how far we've come…
Fast and Furious 7 will be released…
April 10th 2015!
P.s. He'd want you to know first…”
For better or worse, now we know.
