Marvel’s new hit ABC TV series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., is helping expand the company's massive big screen universe. The series has already featured tie-ins with both Thor 2: The Dark World and the upcoming Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier. Now it has been announced that the show could feature an Iron Man character. Sam Rockwell recently expressed an interest in reprising his role as Justin Hammer.

Rockwell played Justin Hammer, the main antagonist in the second Iron Man film. Rockwell recently took some time to speak with Vulture about his future plans to get revenge on Tony Stark and Pepper Potts:

“I was hoping to come back in one of the Avengers films and come after Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts). That’s what they set up--that I was going to get revenge on Gwyneth for getting me arrested. But they’ve got a lot of mojo in [those movies] already, so I don’t know if they need another pirate like me in the mix there! Maybe SHIELD is the way to go.”

Marvel has already began to utilize Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to expand on the on its cinematic universe. Not only did the pilot episode feature elements of every major Marvel film to create a Gamma irradiated (Hulk) Super Soldier (Captain America), with the use of alien tech, (Thor) and Extremis (Iron Man.) The series has even featured a direct tie-in with Thor 2: The Dark World.

S.H.I.E.L.D has also featured a tie-in character with both the original Thor and the upcoming Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier. Agent Jasper Sitwell, a long standing character in the comics, is helping to tie TV universe and the movies together.

With Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D being so heavily grounded in the movie verse, Justin Hammer could easily fit in on the show.
