Thor star Chris Hemsworth is one lucky man. Not only has the actor been blessed with an adorable daughter and a lovely wife, but the family escaped near death twice recently. Hemsworth almost fell victim to both a shipwreck and a mudslide, while working on his new film, Ron Howard’s In the Heart of the Sea. Luckily, Hemsworth was safe. Now the actor and his family are safely back at home. Cameras caught the crew at LAX last week. They even managed to catch a few shots of Hemsworth’s pregnant wife, Elsa Pataky, and her baby bump.
Thor’s Chris Hemsworth has been giving his all at his new gig. Hemsworth was almost killed twice while filming his new movie At the Heart of the Sea. First, Hemsworth and his pregnant wife, Elsa Pataky, were reportedly on a ship that ran aground in the Canary Islands. Thankfully, no one was harmed and all were rescued shortly after by the local coastguard.
More recently, the cast and crew were all threatened by a massive mudslide that was sparked by a typhoon. The production crew were safely evacuated but tragically five others were killed during the disaster. Film director Ron Howard tweeted about the tragic event:
“Rare heavy rain in La Gomera forced us to our small converted cover stage…Then our access road began to flood…Soon we were advised to wrap and evacuate. Pronto. Asap”
In the Heart of the Sea is due for a theatrical release on March 13 of 2015. Hemsworth is also scheduled to start filming the sequel to 2012’s blockbuster, The Avengers.
Avengers 2: Age of Ultron will also come out in 2015.
Thankfully, Hemsworth and his family are all safe. Here's to hoping that the soon-to-be family of four all have a very happy Christmas together. After the two near misses, Chris is undoubtedly counting his blessings this year.
