‘X-Men’ Ian Mckellen and Patrick Stewart Not In ‘Apocalypse,’ True Blood’s Anna Paquin Cut from 'Days of Future Past'

X-Men: Days of Future Past is on its way and its sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse, has already been announced. However, Ian Mckellen and Patrick Stewart might not be in the next film. Meanwhile, True Blood’s Anna Paquin has been cut from the new film altogether.

During a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Sir Ian Mckellen and Sir Patrick Stewart were asked if they synced their performances with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy, who play younger versions of the two. Mckellen responded by saying:

"no, it’s up to them to sync with us. We came first!"

He later added:

"I think he made it clear he wanted to be his own Magneto, and that suits the nature of the story and his part in it."

Stewart added that he hadn’t heard anything about the upcoming 2016 sequel X-Men: Apocalypse:

"I know nothing about it.” He asked Mckellen, “Has anybody called you? Are you keeping something from me?"

Mckellen chimed in with we assume was a joke:

"No, I know nothing about it. Which probably means we're not in it."

However, if this is true, the next movie might be entirely based in the past. Meanwhile, True Blood starlet Anna Paquin won't be appearing in the new film. Paquin played Rouge in the original trilogy, but unfortunately, the one scene she was able to film for the new movie had to be cut. X-Men director Bryan SInger recently spoke with Variety about having to give Paquin the axe:

“Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous. It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it.”
