Ariana Grande is one of the most popular young stars of the day, maybe even too popular. This past week, Grande sparked rumors that she was retiring from acting. Could this mean that her hit show Sam and Cat has been cancelled? Speaking of Grande ending things, it has also been rumored that she has broken things off with boyfriend Nathan Sykes.
Recently, Ariana Grande spoke with Complex, where she hinted that she was ready to retire from acting.
"I never liked acting. I auditioned for TV just to get a platform to get a record deal, but then I fell in love with acting because it was fun...After I'm done playing Cat Valentine I don't see myself doing much acting. But I would like to do a scary movie, or a musical."
This has sent Sam and Cat fans into a panic, thinking that the series was being canceled. Sam and Cat has yet to be picked up for a second season, but the first season order was doubled, bringing the total number of episodes to 40. By comparison, Victorious only had 58 episodes during it it four season run.
However, Grande went on to clear up some of the confusion, when she tweeted:
"Apparently I'm ‘retiring from acting’ but that's not true. :) just thought I'd clear that up, definitely a rumor...moooorning loves"
Speaking of misunderstanding, fans have been struggling to understand what Grande meant when she spoke with radio host Brian Fink. Fink asked Grande about her boyfriend, to which she replied:
“You’re a little behind. We’re really good friends.”
However, Nathan has seemingly denied this when he tweeted:
“Don’t believe anything until you hear it from me or one of the boys. Everyyyoneee calmmmmm doooowwwwnnnnn ☺ lol”
