“Blame It All on My Roots”…and Seaworld’s controversial policies, because Trisha Yearwood has canceled her future shows at the tourist destination. Yearwood has joined fellow country artist Martina McBride in boycotting Seaworld, after the release of a new documentary that shines light on the effects captivity has on whales. Meanwhile, Yearwood’s husband, Garth Brooks, has the number one album in the country. Brooks also recently announced a brand new tour for 2014.
After an all new documentary that exposes Seaworld's controversial practices called Blackfish started making the rounds, several musicians have canceled concerts scheduled for the park. Among the artists to back out of shows are Barenaked Ladies, Willie Nelson, Heart, Martina McBride and now, Trisha Yearwood.
Meanwhile, Yearwood can always join her husband Garth Brooks. Now that their children are all grown, Brooks has come out of retirement. Brooks recently spoke with the press about his upcoming engagements:
"Coming up--fall of 2014--me and Miss Yearwood are gonna be empty nesters. And when you talk about how you want to spend the rest of your life, I'd like to spend it going around the world playing music."
Brooks went on to say that his new tour will be like nothing you have ever seen before, adding:
"If you think you've seen Garth Brooks in concert, get ready. It'll be nothing like the Wynn show. Our goal is to make what you've seen from Garth Brooks so far seem small."
Brooks first announced his new tour on ABC’s Good Morning America:
“It sure feels good to get to throw your hat back in the ring. All my babies are fine with it. Ms. Yearwood is fine with it. So now I get to do what I love to do, which is play music. I get to be with the person I want to be with, which is Ms. Yearwood...Our baby is a senior in high school.My children are off on their own so the guilt of not being there…I’m a phone call dad now. ‘Hey Dad, I love you, can I borrow some money?’ ”
