Robert Downey Jr Vs The Rock: ‘G.I.Joe 3’ and ‘Iron Man 4’ Movie Rumors

Robert Downey Jr has fought a lot of battles in his day. From killer robots to his own personal demons, RDJ has come out on top. Last year, the 48-year-old comeback kid was named the highest earning actor in Hollywood. Now a new box office king has arrived. Former WWE superstar- turned-leading man, Dwayne The Rock Johnson, is this year's big winner. In order to celebrate the big news, we decided to fill you in on all the latest rumors regarding Iron Man 4 and G.I. Joe 3, because knowing is half the battle.

Dwayne The Rock Johnson has beat Robert Downey Jr for the title of highest paid actor of 2013.The Rock dethroned RDJ for the big honor (and paycheck) with a series of smaller paying films as opposed to RDJ's smaller amount of higher paying films. The Rock put out multiple movies this year, including: Pain and Gain, Fast and Furious 6, G.I. Joe Retaliation, Empire State and Snitch, as opposed to Downey’s Iron Man 3. Johnson is also rumored to appear in the upcoming sequel for G.I. Joe 3, alongside Adrianne Palicki and possibly even...Spoiler Alert...Channing Tatum…...End Spoiler Alert. Evan Daugherty is writing the script for the new film.

Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr will return to the Iron Man suit in the Avengers 2: The Age of Ultron. It has been reported that Robert Downey Jr has also signed on for a third Avengers film, however, he has not signed up for anymore Iron Man films. Kevin Feige, Marvel’s President of Production (and professional interview giver), recently spoke with Collider about the about the future of the film series, with or without RDJ:

“I’ve said it before and it wasn’t negotiating tactics. I believe Tony Stark is as strong a character as Batman. We’re about to head into our fifth or sixth Batman--however, you wanna look at it--James Bond, etc. So, there will absolutely be future Tony Starks and future Iron Mans. Who makes those movies, and when those movies are made, who knows? I don’t know. But, the notion with Robert’s contract in The Avengers 2 & 3, is to allow new characters. Part of what we love about The Avengers is the shifting roster. That’s what’s fun about the comic book movies. You shift them up. So, certainly that was a lot of the thought process that went into it.”
