Chris Hemsworth is currently working on his newest movie, In the Heart of the Sea, with Rush director Ron Howard. However, production of the film keeps getting threatened. Fist, Hemsworth and his pregnant wife Elsa Pataky were aboard a ship that wrecked ashore, then the Thor star narrowly escaped a typhoon. The typhoon lead to a massive mudslide that tragically killed five in the Canary Island.
Don’t let Tom Cruise and Kanye West fool you, actors don’t have it as hard as cops and soldiers, but that doesn’t mean their lives are all sunshine and picnics either. The cast and crew of Ron Howard's upcoming movie, In the Heart of the Sea, has been plagued with problems.
The film stars Thor’s Chris Hemsworth, who previously worked with Ron Howard in the 2013 racing drama, Rush. Hemsworth and the crew narrowly escaped a typhoon that caused a massive mudslide. The cast and crew all managed to get to safety, however, five others tragically died in the incident.
Ron Howard tweeted about the incident, saying:
“Rare heavy rain in La Gomera forced us to our small converted cover stage… Then our access road began to flood… Soon we were advised to wrap and evacuate. Pronto. Asap”
This wasn’t the first near-tragedy to effect the film. Hemsworth and his pregnant wife were onboard a boat that ran aground last month. Fortunately, the family and all other passengers were rescued by the local coastguards.
Hopefully, everything else goes well for the rest of the production and the Hemsworth family. Chris Hemsworth and wife, Fast and the Furious actress Elsa Pataky, are expecting their second child. Ron Howard’s In the Heart of the Sea is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 13 of 2015.
Hemsworth can also be seen in 2015’s Avengers 2: Age of Ultron.
