Rachael Ray’s Cousin Blames Her for Mom’s Death, Misses Funeral for Show and New Book Tour [UPDATE]

In a new tabloid article, Rachael Ray’s cousin blames the celebrity chef for her mom’s death and accuses her of some pretty terrible things. Rachael released a statement that she was mourning her aunt’s death, however, she did not attend the funeral because her show was taping. This latest news comes after Rachael concluded her new book tour.

Immediately after Thanksgiving, Ray’s aunt tragically died, while house sitting for Rachael’s mother. The elderly woman appears to have froze to death, after being locked out of the home.

Now, the woman’s daughter has taken to attacking Rachael in the National Enquirer. In fact, she placed the blame solely on Rachel, telling readers:

“My mother is dead today because [the] Ray family neglected her. I want the world to know the truth about them and just how they treat their own family...I doubt that Rachael shed a single tear over my mom’s death.”

Rachael did not attend the funeral, and a representative of her camp told the Post that Rachael was busy filming her season finale, adding:

“Rachael and her family were shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic and untimely passing of her aunt in late November.”

Aside from this tragic situation, things seem to be going pretty well for the celebrity chef. Her new book, Week In a Day: Five Dishes--One Day, is doing great. In case you missed her recent whirlwind publicity tour, the publisher provides the following synopsis:
