Hunger Games 2 is slipping at the box office. Jennifer Lawrence, who is allegedly engaged, and Liam Hemsworth lost the weekend to Hobbit 2 and several other movies, including Madea.
Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug came in number one this past weekend, with an impressive $76 million dollars. Although the film took the top spot, it didn’t match up to the film’s predecessor, which was released on the same weekend last year.
The number two film was Disney’s animated flick, Frozen. Third place went to Tyler Perry’s Madea, the 315th (has to be, right?) sequel in his hit franchise.
All the way in the number four spot was Hunger Games, which brought in just $13.7 M. Of course, the real news surrounding the film comes from the personal life of its star, Jennifer Lawrence.
Rumors are flying that Jennifer is engaged to her hottie boyfriend, Nicholas Hoult. According to a source who spoke with OK! Magazine, don’t expect a giant Hollywood spectacle, as the insider revealed:
“I don’t think there’s going to be any big announcement. They just want to slip away and get married in quiet. They’d much rather run off somewhere and marry quietly and then have a family get-together, one in Kentucky [Jennifer’s home state] and the other in London [Nicholas’ home turf]. Having a lavish Hollywood wedding is the last thing they want. Jen says planning it all and working out a guest list would drive her crazy. It would be so stressful deciding who to invite, so as not to offend anyone in Hollywood.”
Jennifer also started a few pregnancy rumors of her own, when she got a little tongue tied. When asked about doing her own stunts, the actress told Your Tango:
“There's a scene where we're hanging on to a spinning clock in the middle of a river. It was hard because this wheel was going 30 miles per hour in freezing cold water. I had morning sickness.”
