‘Sam and Cat’s’ Jennette McCurdy Covers ‘I’ll Be Home for Christmas’ After Taking Fans' Advice

Jennette McCurdy is off to prove that there is a lot more to her then just hard knocks and butter socks. When McCurdy isn’t busy filming her hit TV show Sam and Cat or posting a near limitless amount of Vines online, she is off covering some her favorite songs. Her latest tune is a holiday standard. After seeking the advice of fans, McCurdy decide to perform her very own version of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.”

Jennette McCurdy is perhaps best know as her TV alter-ego Sam Puckett on Nickelodeon’s iCarly and its spin-off series Sam and Cat. Where Puckett is known for her rude and often violent actions is a stark contrast to McCurdy’s real life character. Jennette proves this by showing off her softer side in a slew of a cappella covers released on YouTube. Some of her incredible cover videos include, One Direction’s “Story of my Life,” Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball,” Lorde’s “Team” and Rihanna’s “Stay,” just to name a few.

Last week, McCurdy turned to her Twitter followers to help her decide what her next cover should be, writing:

“Doing a new cover on Saturday--tweet me your suggestions! This is a subtle promotion!”

As promised, McCurdy released another cover this weekend. In her new video, McCurdy released her version of the holiday standard, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”

In the new video, McCurdy belts the classic with impressive soul.

“I’ll Be Home For Christmas” may have not been the only Christmas song that she thought about singing, as evident by her tweet:

“if you really think about it, the guy's part in ‘Baby, It's Cold Outside’ is actually pretty damn creepy....”

McCurdy is a talented young singer of country-pop music. She has been recording music professionally since 2009 and released a self-titled studio album in 2012.
