The Mega Millions Lottery totals for this weekend's drawing has risen to a jaw dropping amount, while the Powerball lottery is just plain dropping. Check below for Friday and Saturday’s new totals.
The Mega Millions website has reached a grand total of $400 million with a cash value of $216 mil. The MM website tells the story of one lucky winner who brought home a meager $3 million:
“Everette Sloop Jr. of Rockwell in Rowan County is the first player in the country to win $3 million playing the new Mega Millions game.
Sloop’s Quick Pick ticket matched all five white balls but not the Mega Ball in Friday’s drawing. Because he added the $1 Megaplier feature and the Megaplier in the drawing was 3X, the ticket was worth $3 million.
Sloop was sitting in his car on Saturday morning when he learned of his win, which beat odds of one in 18.4 million.”
Meanwhile, the Powerball Lottery has dropped to a sad $40 million, with a cash value of who really cares. The Powerball website is also reporting several small scale winners including:
“Jerry Wells of Lincoln recently won $1 million playing Nebraska Powerball.
“Wells purchased his winning Powerball ticket at Roc's Stop & Shop, 2100 South 56th Street in Lincoln. The two-play ticket contained one play with all five winning white ball numbers (4, 18, 23, 32, 45) for a corresponding prize of $1 million.
“While claiming his prize on November 26, Wells told Nebraska Lottery officials that he selects his Powerball numbers using a combination of birthdays, ages, and the jersey numbers of favorite athletes. He learned he had won after checking the Nebraska Lottery website, nelottery.com. ‘When I saw the numbers come up the first thought that went through my mind was, 'Those numbers look familiar,' said Wells. ‘I was disappointed for a second because I didn't match the Powerball number for the jackpot, but then I realized I'd won a million dollars.’ He plans to pay bills and invest for the future using his winnings. ‘I've often dreamed of winning and what I'd do if I did win,’ said Wells. ‘I am truly blessed and very thankful.’”
Best of luck to you always.
