Superhero movies are all the rage these days. With big screen team ups like Batman Vs Superman announced, many fans are wondering if we'll ever see an Avengers and Spider-Man crossover. The major holdup thus far has been the fact that Disney owns the film rights to Avengers and Sony Pictures holds the rights to The Amazing Spider-Man. However, could the two giant corporations come to a deal to assemble the heroes together on the big screen?
Spider-Man might have his webbed hands full in the upcoming film, Amazing Spider-Man 2. Paul Giamatti plays Rhino, just one of Spider-Man’s many villains in the new film. Giamatti recently spoke to MTV about the new threat to Spidy:
"I believe there's a lot of stage-setting for the next film. There are several villains in this movie, and some of them are more foreground and important. Jamie Foxx is and stuff. A couple of us are more hanging around the background because I think there will be a bigger deal.I don't actually know, but that seems to be what they're doing. I'm not an idiot either, but I can't claim hard and fast knowledge of this. I won't. I can't because I don't actually know, but you and I can speculate."
With the host of brand new villains that Spidey has to face, he might need a little help. Does that mean that Spider-Man could be slinging webs with the Avengers anytime soon? Back during Avengers 1, there were talks about putting the Oscorp tower in the NY skyline, however, it never happened.
Marvel’s president of production, Kevin Feige, spoke with French publicationship Reviewer about the possibility of Spider-Man joining the Avengers:
"They have movies they want to make, we have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to Thor stories, and Cap stories, and Avengers stories It would be cool to happen sometime. But I don't know when that would be"
