The Vampire Diaries stars Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder have been sparking gay dating rumors. Wesley has even referred to Somerhalder as his “girlfriend.” Now it has been revealed that the two vampire bros share an undying love for emo music.
Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder are very close. The two Vampire Diaries co-stars have an awful lot in common, and we don’t just mean the Nina Dobrev love triangle rumors. The two boys have been rumored to be dating each other. Wesley has even referred to the Lost veteran as his “girlfriend.”
However, Wesley apparently has his eyes on another man, announcing his love for Original's actor Daniel Gillies at the Eyecon Atlanta convention earlier this year:
"All I really care about is if Daniel Gillies likes me or not. If I was a woman, I'd be in love with Daniel Gillies. I'm not a woman and I'm in love with Daniel Gillies. He's the perfect specimen. I was watching The Originals the other day and he looked so good in that suit. He was really still on the screen and then you see that little twinkle in his eyes. Gillies, I'm telling ya, he's got that suit. I wish I could be as cool as Daniel Gillies."
Ian Somerhalder has been spending time with another man himself. Somerhalder recently tweeted a picture of himself hanging out with indie rock icon, Conor Oberst, of the band Brighteyes:
“Me & @butchhogan and one of my greatest brothers--the one and only Conor Oberst - loving #nyc.”
The two share a similar taste in music. Wesley recently revealed on his Mobio INsider account that his current favorite song is “Slipped” by indie rockers The National.
In all seriousness, Wesley’s real life girlfriend is rumored to be Phoebe Tonkin. An unnamed source recently spoke with Us Weekly about spotting the couple on a date:
"They were on a double date with Ben McKenzie and Shelley Hennig. It looked like Paul and Phoebe might have set Ben up with Shelley--seemed like a first date. Paul and Phoebe were 100% romantic--they were across the table from Ben all cozied up on the couch kissing each other. She had her head on his chest."
Somerhalder is also rumored to be back together with his fellow TVD co-star and on-again, off-again, girlfriend, Nina Dobrev.
