There has been a major update in the mental health of Amanda Bynes. The actress was released from rehab and immediately showed her support for twerking sensation Miley Cyrus. This latest announcement comes after months of the actress’ public battle with mental illness, believed to be schizophrenia.
In a statement to People, Bynes’ family attorney Tamar Arminak informed readers that Amanda Bynes was free to leave the mental health facility, though he stressed that she would remain in outpatient rehab:
"Amanda and her entire family would like to thank everyone who's contacted them with good thoughts and wishes for Amanda's recovery. She's feeling better every day. Despite the fact Amanda is no longer in a facility, her outpatient treatment is continuing. She's very happy to reestablish the loving relationship with her family that she once shared."
Shortly after being released, Amanda was photographed wearing a hat that read "Twerk Team." Obviously a fan of Miley, the celebrity seemed at peace, while walking her doggies.
It was clear that the celebrity’s health was improving, when TMZ reported that the court deemed Amanda mentally fit to stand trial for her DUI charges. The gossip site claims to have obtained official court documents that read:
“Amanda Bynes is mentally capable of understanding the nature of the criminal charges she faces, and as a result the road is now clear for her to stand trial for DUI. Amanda's case was in Mental Health Court this AM, and the judge read the court-ordered medical evaluation of the actress, and determined she is now competent to face the DUI charges.”
Star, a major U.S. tabloid also claimed that Amanda’s health was improving. A source who spoke with the publication claims that it was art that helped her heal:
“Amanda paints nonstop. It’s helped get her focus and confidence back. She’s finding herself again in such a beautiful way. Her progress is just incredible!”
