Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier is just a few months away from release and the movie isn’t finished filming. Meanwhile, fans are wondering if Chris Evans will be leaving the franchise after Avengers 2. Could a new Cap be replacing Steve Rodgers in the next film? Warning Spoilers Follow!
Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier is almost here, and it has recently been reported that the film is going into last minute reshoots. Filming will begin again on December 16 and 17 and reconvene for two weeks in January. Where reshoots this close to release normally spell doom for a film, Marvel has perfected the practice. Both Iron Man 3 and Thor 2: The Dark World went into late production reshoots. Even the odd teaser for Guardians of the Galaxy was shot just a few weeks before release.
However, Thor went into reshoots to add more of fan favorite Loki. Iron Man 3 was adding to the the film’s epic end battle. What could Marvel be adding to Captain America 3?
Meanwhile, many fans are wondering if Cap will be replaced by Bucky Barnes in CA3. Frank Grillo plays Crossbones in the new film. In the comics, Crossbones is instrumental in the death of Steve Rodgers, leading to Bucky taking up the Shield and the mantle of Captain America. Grillo recently spoke to Crave Online about singing a multi-picture deal:
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’s an origin film. You meet people who are going to be around for a while, so they introduce the characters. It’s almost like it’s a series. It’s fun. I can’t say very much about it because Marvel’s very strict about what you’re allowed to say. The movie, we’ve seen bits of it, and it is spectacular.”
What do you think about the idea of Steve Rodgers stepping down? Would you like to see Bucky Barnes join the Avengers?
