Castle star Nathan Fillion is going back to school. The actor is bringing his cult following to NBC’s Community, when he joins the cast for a special guest spot in Season 5. Meanwhile, Captain Hammer has an axe to grind with The Avengers. The superhero blockbuster has stalled filming on Dr. Horrible 2.
NBC’s cult comedy Community is about to get a new member. Superfan Nathan Fillion is joining the cast with a special guest spot in the upcoming season. Fillion is a long time fan of the show. Unfortunately for all involved, Fillion is only expected to make a brief appearance on the sitcom, playing a politically savvy Janitor. However, fans are holding hope that Fillion will pull a Good Will Hunting and join the class. Although, the series has already touched on a GWH parody with its air conditioner repair school plotline. Community returns to NBC on Jan 2 with two back to back episodes.
Meanwhile, Fillion’s long anticipated sequel to Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog has been stalled by Joss Whedon's Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. Over the summer, Fillion spoke with IGN about the possibility of making the film happen:
"We had designs on doing it sometime this summer, but Avengers 2 popped up. The upside is that everyone involved with that project still wants to do another one. No-one is getting impatient about it. I think we all have faith that we're going to do another one.“
Fillion also has a backup plan just in case Wheldon doesn't get on board, adding:
“And we know where Joss lives. So we've got that going for us."
The songs for Dr. Horrible 2 are reportedly finished, so production isn’t out of the question.
What do you think? Can Captain Hammer beat out the Avengers? Will we ever get to hear Dr. Horrible sing again? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
