Rachael Ray has been busy promoting her new cookbook, Week In a Day: Five Dishes--One Day. On the press junket, Rachel opened up about her daytime talk show, success and charity. Rachel even offers up some tips on how other’s can be as successful as she is.
America’s sweetheart and celebrity chef Rachael Ray has a lot of things to be thankful for this holiday season. Not only does she have a hit daytime cooking/talk show, but she also wrote a new cookbook. In case you missed her mini-publicity tour, here is an official synopsis of the book:
“Relax with a tasty meal after a busy day. Enjoy your evenings around the dinner table with your friends and family. Sound too good to be true? Not if you plan your Week in a Day. Rachael Ray’s Week in a Day, the companion book to her hit cooking show of the same name, offers more than two hundred recipes that will help you prepare five nights’ worth of meals in a single day. The woman who taught America how to make a meal in 30 minutes is sharing more of her practical and easy tips that will have you eating well for days to come!”
Rachel also sat down with Forbes, where she was asked what career advice she has to offer. As usual, Rachel emphasized the value of hard work and doing what you love for a living:
"1. Take your work very seriously, but don’t take yourself too seriously.
2. Work harder than the next person and don’t complain about i
3. It’s important that you understand that goals should never be money, or fame, or a television show. A goal has to be something that’s more about your message as a contributor...You have to do what makes you happy and something that involves some larger purpose or message. I think that work that’s done just to be work is meaningless.”
Of course, Rachel isn’t just focused on her career. The daytime chef also likes to give back, like with her Yum-o! charity. According to the charities official site:
“Launched in 2006 by Rachael Ray, Yum-o!® is a nonprofit organization that empowers kids and their families to develop healthy relationships with food and cooking by teaching families to cook, feeding hungry kids and funding cooking education and scholarships. “
What do you think about Rachael Ray’s new cookbook? Will you buy it? What’s some of your favorite dishes?
