Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the most anticipated films of 2014 and for good reason. Actress Zoe Saldana has recently compared the movie's daring direction to a Quentin Tarantino film. Saldana plays Thanos’ adopted daughter, Gamora, in the upcoming superhero flick.
Avatar star Zoe Saldana is loving her new role in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. The actress has been doting over her part in the film as well as director James Gunn. Saldana spoke with Collider about her fondness for the film:
"I loved working with James, I want to work with him again. It's that thing, I loved the dynamic, the energy that he has. I like his kooky nature. He's a kooky artist, and he's unconventional, he's unique, he has his own voice...I love movies that are unique, like the Quentin Tarantinos of them all. Whether they're A, B, or C, however people like to consider talent in this business, which I hate. Like, A movies, A actors, A directors --f**k that. Sometimes a C-movie made by a C-director is brilliant."
Saldana previously spoke with MTV News about the new film, where she posed the age old question of just how superheroes use the bathroom:
"I love, sometimes, the consistency of what the classics have left behind, but I need innovation. You can only have so much of 'I'll save you. After a while, it's like, 'Oh god. Does he go to the bathroom? Is he hungry? Does he cry? Does he feel?' Not only do we cover that, but we're making heroes out of thieves, and they're Robin Hoods. These characters are absolutely amazing, and they have a full-blown redemption."
