Production for Batman Vs Superman is gearing up and Wonder Woman has officially been cast. Now that Gal Gadot has claimed the role, fans are eager to learn who will play Lex Luthor and Nightwing. Rumor also has it that Doomsday might be on his way.
Batman Vs Superman director Zack Snyder recently released a statement confirming that Gal Gadot has been cast as Wonder Woman in the new film:
"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."
Gadot, a former Miss Israel, is best known for her role in the Fast and the Furious film franchise.
Now that Wonder Woman has been confirmed, the newest casting rumor is for the film's main villain. Callan Mulvey’s name is being tossed around as the movie's antagonist, that many believe to be Lex Luthor.
When he was promoting Man of Steel's Blu-ray release, Zack Snyder and Kevin Smith let a spoiler slip that Lex Luthor will be in the new film:
"At its core, Superman is an alien. He comes from an alien world...Lex loves to call him an alien."
Kevin Smith confirmed the spoiler, quipping "That's a spoiler, folks."
Producer Daniel Alter also spilled the beans when he tweeted:
“Can't wait for #BatmanvsSuperman.. #batfleck semi-retired/not speaking to Robin anymore.. Controlling drones from the batcave.”
This tweet added weight to the rumors that Nightwing will be in the new film. Girls star Adam Driver was one of the people reported for the role, however, Driver recently told Huffington Post:
“No, there's no truth to it. I don't know whoever put it on there. I don't know how these things get [started]--I don't know how it first came about.”
However, Alter has tweeted info about Doomsday being involved in the new film. Who do you think should be the main villain in the new movie? let us know in the comments section below.
