Thor 2: The Dark World’s Natalie Portman is opening up about her kiss with Chris Hemsworth and just what part his pregnant wife Elsa Pataky played in the love scene.
Natalie Portman recently spoke with NY Daily News about her unbelievably passionate kiss with Chris Hemsworth in Thor 2: The Dark World. Turns out it was so unbelievable because it wasn’t really Portman. Hemsworth’s wife, Fast and The Furious star Elsa Pataky, stood in for Portman:
"It was for reshoots (after the film was finished) and he was working in Hong Kong and I couldn't get there because I was working on my own film. And so they put his wife in my wig and costume, that's why it was so passionate."
Portman previously spoke with Marie Claire about rumors that she didn’t like working with Hemsworth:
“No. Chris [ Hemsworth] is, like, one of the greatest people in Hollywood. He’s the kind of actor who’s so charismatic, he must be tired when he goes home.”
She later doted over her hunky co-star in an interview with Details:
"He's like a person you actually want to hang out with...a full human,There's no scoop, except he's rad. The scoop is he's just great at everything. When we were doing the first Thor, we would joke that we should remake The Way We Were. Little Jewish girl, a smoking-hot Gentile. If we work together again, that's clearly our project."
Portman later added:
"He's confident in a very quiet way. Not a look-at-me kind of way. He's like the silent guy at the table. He can sit there and listen and be generous and not have to be tap-dancing all the time-which is really unusual for an actor."
Porman was also on The Graham Norton Show earlier in the year where she told the host:
"I was mainly cast in the role because I can make anyone look huge when they stand next to me. I’m extraordinarily short. They usually had a ramp for me to walk up so I could land somewhere near his face."
Meanwhile, Hemsworth and Pataky are also expecting their second child. Congratulations are in order for the happy couple.
