There is always a ton of rumors and news when it comes to the cast of the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey movie. Today, however, it’s ex-cast member Charlie Hunnam who’s generating buzz with his new Sons of Anarchy trailer. Charlie’s anticipated performance on the season finale comes after he took a lot of heat from quitting the movie adaptation of EL James’ popular novel.
Finally, some good news for Charlie Hunnam. His performance on this season’s Sons of Anarchy has fans and critics on the edges of their seats for next week’s season finale. FX is as secretive as ever when it comes to revealing any details to their season finale, as evidenced by their official episode synopsis:
“SEASON FINALE - Episode 13 / Production #613 - "A Mother's Work" (Airs December 10, 10:00 pm e/p) - The ramifications of Jax's choices put his club and family in jeopardy. Written by Kurt Sutter & Chris Collins; directed by Kurt Sutter.”

Of course, the biggest buzz Charlie has generated doesn’t come from his FX show, but from a movie he walked away from. Just weeks before production was scheduled to begin, the studio released the following statement on their Twitter:
“The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey.”
Many felt that the statement was just a cover up, especially considering the public outcry that occurred once it was revealed that he would be Christian Grey. EL James recently took a swipe at Charlie when she revealed that fans actually enjoyed Jamie:
"It was disappointing, but it is what it is. I wish him well. And now we have Jamie [Dornan], and that’s great. It’s been interesting with Jamie, [the fan reaction] has been so positive."
