Full casting for the upcoming West End musical version of "The Bodyguard" has been announced.
Debbie Kurup, Mark Letheren, Ray Shell, Nicolas Colicos, Mark McKerracher, Sean Chapman, David Page and Oliver Le Sueur will join previously announced lead actors Heather Headley and Lloyd Owen. Directed by Thea Sharrack, the musical will start performances November 6 at the Adelphi Theatre in London. Opening night is scheduled for December 5.
Based on the 1992 hit film of the same title that starred Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston, The Bodyguard follows the story of superstar singer Rachel Marron (Headley) and her bodyguard Frank Farmer (Lloyd Owen).
The Musical will feature a multitude of hit songs by the late Whitney Houston including "Queen of the Night," "So Emotional," "One Moment in Time," "Saving All My Love," "I'm Your Baby Tonight," "Run to You," "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" and more.
The Musical's creative team includes lighting designer Mark Henderson, sound designer Richard Brooker, set and costume designer Tim Hatley, choreographer Arthur Pita, orchestrator Chris Egan and musical supervisor Mike Dixon.
Ensemble members are Nigel Barber, Jordan Darrell, Yasmin Harrison, Shanay Holmes, Holly James, Robert Jezek, Melissa Keyes, Gil Kolirin, Janet Kumah, Nick Maude, Richard Murphy, Gloria Onitiri, Ashley J Packer, Dharmesh Patel, Lucinda Shaw, Paul Smethurst, Charlotte Watts, and James Wooldridge.
