JC Chasez, *former member of the boy band NSYNC, is preparing to explore new musical paths with an upcoming concept album.

According to a recent report by Billboard, Chasez worked with songwriter and composer Jimmy Harry on a fresh concept album called "Playing With Fire."

Inspired by Mary Shelley's classic novel "Frankenstein," first published way back in 1818, the upcoming album has 16 songs that blend electronic pop with classical music from the Romantic era.

Harry began to share a stage version of a classic story with the "Bye Bye Bye" singer, a rendition originally created by his late mother, playwright Barbara Field.

Intrigued by the tale, Chasez quickly saw the potential for collaboration. Together, they decided to create an album that explores a conversation between a weary Frankenstein and his creation, The Creature, as they stand by the grave of Frankenstein's beloved wife, Elizabeth..

Per the press release, "[Chasez and Harry] grow to understand each other and the reasons for their actions that brutally affected each other's lives. They eventually find sympathy, love, and forgiveness for each other."

Last year, Chasez revealed he had been busy writing musical theater when a "Justice for JC" movement made its rounds on social media.

The social media page @justice4jc gained widespread attention last year as they featured the vocal abilities of a 46-year-old boy band member and aimed to provide the acknowledgement he deserved.

Chasez told Billboard then that he had been writing musical theater. He stated: "There are similarities [between writing a pop hit and musical theater songs] and some very big differences."

He added: "When you're writing a single for something, you're just looking to write about what you're feeling in the moment. When you're working on a musical, there's always a bigger picture and the story is always the driving force."

Chasez's album, "Playing With Fire," is scheduled for release on October 25, 2024.
