With grand aspirations for his future in the entertainment industry, Usher has dedicated 31 years to honing his craft, and he's not stopping yet.
The "Yeah" hitmaker recently shared his aspiration to explore new avenues to express his creativity beyond creating studio albums and music videos.
Similar to his colleague Alicia Keys, Usher is eager for the future to bring forth ample opportunities for exploring his repertoire further, presenting new stories on an even more prestigious platforms.
Usher's Aspirations for Theatrical Exploration
He told USA Today, via Revolt, "Judging from the success Alicia Keys has had and so many incredible other artists or other creatives [that] go from the entertainment world to now kind of merge over into the theatrical space, you know live, Broadway-type of performance. I'd love to do that."
The Shubert Theater in New York welcomed the debut of Keys' semi-autobiographical production titled "Hell's Kitchen" back in April. The production received a total of 13 Tony Award nominations.
Usher continued, "I'd love to take some of the creative license to reimagine certain musical moments in my life. I'll never get a chance to fully explain each album in its entirety."
He added, "With a play you could actually really story tell, take your time and really help people understand what the motivation of '8701' was, what the motivation of 'Raymond v. Raymond' was, what the motivation of 'Looking For Myself' was really about."
Exploring uncharted territories, the "Confessions" hitmaker believed that stepping into unfamiliar realms involves breaking free from the constraints that have historically defined his artistic expression.
"I just want to break all the boundaries and just go back and reimagine some of the things because I didn't get a chance to share it."
Fan Steals the Spotlight During Usher's Tour
This comes amid a viral video showing the eight-time Grammy winner found himself in the spotlight after a fan unexpectedly stole the show during one of his tour stops for the "Past Present Future" tour.
Instead of the R&B icon, the fan charmed the audience with a surprise performance while Usher took a quick intermission.
As captured in the widely-shared video, Usher strolls past a group of women, serenading them with his famous song, "There Goes My Baby."
Among them, Germaine, recognized as @thegclassbygermaine, reaches out her hand and boldly requests, "Give me that mic!"
Observing Germaine with a confused expression, Usher allows her to continue singing and entertaining the audience as he remains seated among other spectators near a barricade.
The crowd erupts in cheers and screams as Germaine hits her high notes while Usher enjoys her performance.
