Ingrid Michaelson's latest album, "For The Dreamers," is out now.

Transporting audiences to a nostalgic era reminiscent of Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland, For The Dreamers showcases a mix of classic covers and original tracks infused with a contemporary cinematic flair.

She told Digital Journal, "Coming out from 'The Notebook,' the musical that I wrote, I have been listening to the 'Great American Songbook' classics of Frank Sinatra, Cole Porter, and Judy Garland... and that inspired me to make a record like that. It felt like it fit my vibe, and it's where I am right now."

The 44-year-old singer-songwriter has a special treat in store for her fans at the Schoenfeld Theatre in New York City. After "The Notebook: The Musical," she will sing some songs from her new album on Tuesday, August 2.

She told the outlet, "I am excited to blend these two worlds together," Michaelson expressed.

After everyone has experienced 'The Notebook,' I would get to come out, and I would guide them into these newer songs."

"I like the idea of people in the audience being able to connect that music to me; that is just a really fun experience for people and for me too."

In her reflection on the album, Michaelson highlighted "Backyard" as her standout track.

The song conveys that all the resources one needs are already present within oneself, which she finds challenging yet empowering. This concept often eludes her, but she explained that her inner songwriter emerges to offer gentle reminders about navigating life's obstacles.

"So, a lot of the songs on the record are thematically wrapped around the concept of 'you are enough.' It makes you conjure thoughts of my childhood backyard."

"I am feeling a lot of nostalgia these days, and I wanted to put that out on the record."
