Lincoln Center Theater has revealed its upcoming season, and among the highlights is the Broadway premiere of Tina Landau and Adam Guettel's 1994 musical 'Floyd Collins.'

The Vivian Beaumont will host the musical's first performances on Thursday, March 27, 2025, with opening night set for Monday, April 21.

'Floyd Collins' is about a spelunker stuck in a cave in south central Kentucky in 1925. His experience in the cave and the rescue efforts of his community are chronicled in the musical.

Playwrights Horizons Off-Broadway presented the musical in 1996 after its Philadelphia debut in 1994's American Music Theater Festival.

The musical will be a part of the previously announced 'McNeal' in the Broadway season of LCT. The latter will be the company's fall Broadway production, with previews starting on Thursday, September 5, and the Beaumont opening on Monday, September 30.

Landau will be directing the new staging as she did for the musical's 1996 Off-Broadway premiere at Playwrights Horizons.

Presently appearing on Broadway with her staging of the 2024 Best Play Tony nominee 'Mother Play,' Landau was nominated for a Tony Award for directing 2017's 'SpongeBob SquarePants.' In 1996, she directed the original Off-Broadway version of 'Floyd Collins,' which garnered nominations for Outstanding Director and Book of a Musical.

Guettel received two Tony Awards in 2005 for his orchestrations and score for 'The Light in the Piazza,' which also played the Beaumont. He is currently nominated for the 2024 Best Original Score Tony Award for 'Days of Wine and Roses.'

Furthermore, he received two Drama Desk nominations in 1996 for 'Floyd Collins," for Outstanding Music and Outstanding Lyrics with Landau.

Casting and additional 'Floyd Collins' creative team members will be announced.
